Midwifery Finishing School: Your Springboard to Confidence
So, you just spent a few years studying midwifery and you feel like you learned so much (because you did!) and now you’ve started your practice and realize there’s SO MUCH MORE to learn. Being a new midwife can be overwhelming and humbling but I don’t think it needs to take so long to go from novice to expert. So I created Midwifery Finishing School (MFS) to speed up the process! How? MFS is a 7-week online course for newer or student midwives and its full of the un-Googleable knowledge and decision-making skills that you probably didn’t get from school or your apprenticeship; training in phone triage, miscarriage management and alternative treatments for clients with mild cervical dysplasia, even self care for birth workers, just to name a few. I didn’t include anything I remember from school, just pro-tips I’ve learned from 20 years of experience, research, courses and reading. I’ve even added client handouts and algorithms on everything from gestational diabetes to bacterial vaginosis to make this course one big midwifery hack. When in doubt, you’ll have a handout!Click here for a full list of topics covered and handouts provided. Online only Course: 6 weeks – 1 day per week for 2 hoursPrice: $597$397 for midwives of color (not for white presenting midwives)
Miscarriage Management for the Out of Hospital Setting
Raise your hand if you are a new midwife who got little to no training on miscarriage management? This class is for you! It’s about 2 hours and covers diagnosis, management options, sensitive client education, follow up testing and how to advise on when to get pregnant again. Online only.
